DESTINY USA HIRES AIDEN MCGUIRE AS DIRECTOR OF MARKETING

Published: 10/07/2015

Destiny USA has hired Syracuse native Aiden McGuire as its new director of marketing. McGuire will be responsible for overseeing all of Destiny USA’s advertising, public relations, on-site events, guest services, social media, website and marketing strategies.

“Aiden brings Destiny USA more than a decade of dynamic, hands-on marketing and communications experience,” said Rob Schoeneck, general manager, Destiny USA. “His passion and enthusiasm for the Syracuse community and its economic development is contagious, and we’re all excited to benefit from his marketing leadership.”

McGuire’s immediate priority will be overseeing the launch of the new Destiny USA website in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of the opening of Carousel Center. His focus through the remainder of 2015 will be on continuing to explore and experiment with digital technologies to drive awareness, and out-of-market visitation and tourism to Destiny USA.

“Being able to return to my hometown is incredibly exciting,” said McGuire. “I’ve always thought of Destiny USA is a tremendous asset to the greater Central New York community, and it’s my goal to able to leverage existing and emerging digital technologies to communicate that vision beyond our borders to drive visitation to and economic growth in our region.”

McGuire most recently served as sr. marketing communications specialist for Wisconsin-based KI furniture, where he managed the development and execution of its digital marketing and communications programs.

Prior to KI, McGuire worked as an award-winning copywriter and public relations executive for Syracuse advertising agencies Mark Russell & Associates (MRA) and Eric Mower and Associates (EMA). McGuire served as a Page in the U.S. House of Representatives, graduated from Corcoran High School and received his bachelor’s degree in English from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, N.Y.
