New Experience for Student Groups near Destiny USA – Great Law of Peace Center: A Haudenosaunee Heritage Center

This is a great educational experience to discover before or after a fun-filled day at Destiny USA.

According to SYTA (Student Youth Travel Association) – The Voice of Student & Youth Travel Native American Destinations are thriving, especially for international student groups. Syracuse’s own Ska nonh – Great Law of Peace Center is located just three miles from Destiny USA. It is focused on telling the story of the native peoples of Central New York. The history is told through the lens of the Onondaga Nation and covers topics such as Creation, European contact, The Great Law of Peace and more. The Onondaga, or People of the Hills, are the keepers of the Central Fire and are the spiritual and political center of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy (Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga and Seneca Nations). They remain among the last sovereign indigenous people in the US, if not the world, who still govern themselves by their ancient ceremonial Longhouse practices.
