CELEBRATE HIP-HOP HISTORY AT DESTINY USA WITH ON THE ONE – DJ CENTER
Syracuse, NY (November 14, 2023) – Destiny USA and On The One – DJ Center are thrilled to announce an exciting celebration of Hip Hop history, set to take place in the Canyon at Destiny USA on November 15th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This event, free to the public, is dedicated to exploring and honoring the dynamic elements of Hip Hop culture. In 2021, congress declared November, National Hip-Hop History Month. Under the leadership of Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), the bill was created to recognize and celebrate Hip-hop’s lasting influence on American culture. To honor the elements of Hip-Hop, this event will showcase free DJ lessons and demonstrations led by DJs Pop Pop, Fingerz, and Bizznez. ASCUAD 315 Hip Hop, will conduct a break-dance workshop, inviting attendees to experience the energetic world of breakdancing. In a special highlight, Ben Ortiz (aka DJ ha-MEEN), from the Cornell University Hip Hop Collection, will present an engaging talk on hip-hop history and preservation, offering insights into the genre’s rich heritage and its impact on contemporary culture.
The event will also feature graffiti/art tables for creative expression. A live emcee cypher will feature performances by Upstate New York’s finest artists including MI’Onestie B, The Bridge Upstate’s Zak G, Praise, Princess Heats, Big Nate MG, Standpoint, and Felix Free.
