— Annual Shop with a Cop or Firefighter is planned for a fourth year to brighten the children’s day —
Syracuse, NY- Dozens of kids will get the chance to shop with a Syracuse police officer or a Syracuse firefighter on Saturday, December 10 at Destiny USA. Each child will get a Destiny USA Gift Card to buy holiday gifts for themselves, their family and friends, and to purchase non-perishable food items for the Food Bank of Central New York.
The event starts with breakfast with Santa at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 10. Then about 25 children will get to shop at Destiny USA with one officer or firefighter each. Some of the children chosen to participate were witnesses or victims of a crime, fire or serious accident and look up to the officers and firefighters who were there for them in their time of need. Others are local students who aspire to be firefighters or a police officer when they grow up.
“We love being a part of Shop with a Cop or Firefighter each year because it puts a smile on the children’s faces,” Aiden McGuire, director of marketing of Destiny USA, said. “These kids deserve something great, especially during the holiday season, so we’re honored to help organize this event with the Syracuse Police and Fire Departments.”
