Syracuse, NY- Destiny USA announces G.H. Bass, iconic American footwear brand that dates back to 1876 in Wilton, Maine, is coming to the expansion. The company will open an outlet store on the second level of the expansion, between GUESS and Beauty Plus Salon Too. The store will be 5,486 square feet.
G.H. Bass introduced the world’s first penny loafer, the Bass “weejuns,” named after a Norwegian slipper-type moccasin used for ‘loafing in the field,’ back in 1936, and has been in the forefront of comfortable, stylish footwear ever since. The outlet store will sell shoes, boots and sandals for both men and women.
“We pride ourselves in having some of the best brands at Destiny USA and G.H. Bass is one of those brands,” Sara Wallace, Director of Marketing of Destiny USA, said. “G.H. Bass only has a handful of stores in New York and we’re excited to be one of them.”
“We are an American heritage lifestyle brand that has a rich history of craftsmanship, quality and style from generation to generation,” Bill Hutchison, President of G.H. Bass, said. “Our roots are based in the Northeast, it seems only natural for us to continue our retail growth in this region.”
G.H. Bass is expected to open in April 2015 on the second level of Destiny USA’s expansion.
Syracuse, NY- Planning ahead while preparing for holiday shopping can make your trips faster and more convenient. While planning a trip to Destiny USA this season, we have some suggestions for holiday shoppers to help make their travel and visit easier and worry-free.
SOLAR STREET LOTS: Destiny USA’s six parking lots along Solar Street are the most convenient for entering and exiting the property for several reasons. Destiny USA has a pedestrian bridge that connects these parking lots directly to Destiny USA’s Canyon Area and provides cover to guests walking to and from the lots during the snowy and cold winter months. The Solar Street lots also allow drivers to access the highways quickly and easily. Customers driving North on I-81 can exit at Court Street and head East to Solar Street to enter the property. Visitors driving South on I-81 can exit on Park Street to Hiawatha Boulevard and turn onto Solar Street.
EASY OUT: Many guests who park in the parking lots closest to the building exit the property at the stop light on Hiawatha Boulevard or the lights at Park Street, but there is an easier way to exit the property on busier shopping days. When parking on the Onondaga Lake side of the facility, we suggest exiting Left out of the parking lot and head toward the South end of the facility, toward Dick’s Sporting Goods. When approaching the Hiawatha Boulevard Bridge, there is an underpass on the right side, just before Dick’s Sporting Goods. That underpass directs drivers to the back side of the Solar Street parking lots, which gives them easy access to Solar Street and allows them to make their way to the highway or downtown Syracuse quickly.
LOCK CARS & HIDE BELONGINGS: Be sure your personal belongings are extra safe while shopping this season. Destiny USA has two suggestions for you: lock your vehicle when you exit it and hide all personal belongings in the truck of your vehicle or in a covered area of your car, like your glove compartment. If you need to report suspicious activity in a parking lot, call Destiny USA security’s 24-hour hotline at 315.466.6011.
VALET PARKING: Take advantage of Destiny USA’s valet parking for only $5 a day. Drop off your vehicle to the attendant outside The Cheesecake Factory entrance, pay a low $5 fee and enjoy your shopping. The valet attendant will even bring your shopping bags to your car for you so you can continue shopping without being bogged down by bags. Be sure to ask them to store your bags in your trunk, if possible.
Destiny USA has all your shopping needs for the holiday season all under one roof.
Visit www.destinyusa.com for more parking information or call 315.466.6000.

Syracuse, NY- Destiny USA launches the Winter Fun Day Pass, helping families save money while enjoying Destiny USA’s entertainment venues. The popular Summer Fun Day Pass is now available as the Winter Pass, with new experiences available to guests.
The Winter Fun Day Pass offers the same great fun as the Summer Day Pass, but with a slight change in redemption. Instead of a booklet of paper vouchers, the Winter Fun Day Pass will be a barcoded card, similar to a gift card, which can be scanned at each participating venue. It will run from January 5 to February 28, 2015 with some blackout dates.
The Winter Fun Day Pass allows guests to receive admission into four of 11 participating entertainment venues at one low cost. When a guest purchases the Day Pass on or after January 5, they will receive a card with admission to four venues, along with a free Carousel ride. A guest has 24 hours to use the Winter Fun Day Pass starting with the first entertainment venue they choose.
“This new way of redemption is great because it’s more convenient for guests and it helps reduce waste from all the leftover paper,” Sara Wallace, Director of Marketing of Destiny USA, said. “It also allows us to offer pre-sales so guests can purchase the Winter Fun Day Pass for their family and friends as holiday gifts.”
Guests can purchase the Winter Fun Day Pass starting now, and can redeem the card for use starting on January 5.
They can purchase the Day Pass online at www.destinyusa.com/winterdaypass, or by visiting any of Destiny USA’s guest services locations. When a guest purchases the Day Pass before January 5, 2015 they will receive a confirmation email, which will need to be redeemed for the Day Pass card on or after January 5. They can bring the confirmation email to any Guest Services location, including a temporary guest services location on the third level of Destiny USA, between World of Beer and Amazing Mirror Maze.
A children’s Day Pass is $38 plus applicable sales tax (ages 11 and younger – age and weight restrictions apply). An adult Day Pass is $48 plus applicable sales tax.
The participating venues are 5Wits, Amazing Mirror Maze, Billy Beez, Canyon Climb Adventure, Dave and Buster’s, LazerTag, OptiGolf, Pole Position Raceway, Revolutions Entertainment, Sky Tykes and WonderWorks. Syracuse, NY- Dozens of kids will get the chance to shop with a Syracuse police officer or a Syracuse firefighter on Saturday, December 6 at Destiny USA. Each child will get to purchase holiday gifts for themselves, their family and friends, and to buy an item to donate to Destiny USA’s Stuff the Truck program.
The event starts with breakfast with Santa at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 6. Then 38 children will get to shop at Destiny USA with one officer or firefighter each.
Most of the children chosen to participate were witnesses or victims of a crime, fire or serious accident, and look up to the officers and firefighters who were there for them in their time of need. Other kids participating were chosen because they are good students in the Syracuse City School District and are great examples for their peers in the classroom.
“We love being a part of Shop with a Cop or Firefighter each year because it puts a smile on the children’s faces,” Sara Wallace, Director of Marketing of Destiny USA, said. “These kids deserve something great, especially during the holiday season, so we’re honored to help organize this event with the Syracuse Police and Fire Departments.”
Syracuse, NY- VF Outlet opened a new store on Destiny USA’s second level expansion, across from Jos A. Bank on Friday, November 21.
VF Outlet boasts the ‘original’ outlet sales as early as 1970. President of VF Corporation at the time, M.O. Lee, suggested public sales to clear out excess inventory. The merchandise quickly sold out and thus was born the outlet sale. From there, VF Corporation hosted these events on a regular basis and VF Outlet was created.
Since the VF Outlet sales of the 1970’s, the new VF Outlet offers excess inventory and a unique combination of value price product with brands including Lee, Wrangler, JanSport, Maidenform, Avia, Disney and more for men, women and children.
Destiny USA’s VF Outlet location is one of three locations in Upstate New York. It is the only location within a fully enclosed facility. VF Outlet is now open and takes more than 20,000 square feet on the second level of the expansion.
