Retailers and venues throughout Destiny USA’s expansion continue to obtain LEED© certifications as part of their commitment to sustainability.
Destiny USA’s expansion received LEED© Gold certification on February 6, 2012, making it the largest LEED© Gold commercial building in the world. In line with Destiny USA’s commitment to energy efficiency, all new venues opening within the expansion are lease required to obtain LEED certification as well. In a unique partnership with the United States Green Building Council, new retailers obtain pre-approved points for building out in an already certified location. A dedicated team from Destiny USA is there through every step of the process for tenants.
To date, more than 60 tenants are currently in the LEED© certification process, with nearly two dozen having obtained the status through the United States Green Building Council. Recent certifications include:

“The tenant response to this programming is phenomenal. In March 2013, Destiny USA received OCCRA’s Blue Ribbon Recycler Award for the facility’s work in 2012 regarding composting, its LEED© certification and new programs like the rainwater harvesting system, which reserves 4 million gallons of water annually.
Destiny USA achieved another milestone last month when it reached more than 250,000lbs of waste composted since January. The program works with all restaurants and many retailers throughout the facility to properly dispose of food.
The two theaters will debut Superman: Man of Steel on IMAX and RPX tomorrow
The IMAX and RPX theatres at Regal Cinemas Destiny USA are opening just in time for all the big blockbuster movies of the summer.
The IMAX and RPX theaters will enhance Regal guests’ viewing experience with the IMAX screen three times the average movie theater screen standing 40 feet tall and stretching 72 feet wide. The RPX theater is slightly smaller standing 31 feet tall and 58 feet wide. Both screens combined will add close to an additional 700 seats to the entire Regal Cinema complex, making a total of 3,400 seats.
The concept of the IMAX Theater originated in Montreal, Canada in 1967. The idea revolutionized cinema even more when 3D viewing was created for IMAX theaters in 1986. IMAX has exploded into a worldwide phenomenon launching 700 plus theaters spread across 52 different countries. RPX (Regal Premium Experience) theaters are still relatively new to the entertainment world. They debuted in April 2010, with more than 40 screens across the country today.
“On the behalf of the 230+ workers and multiple construction teams we put on this project, we are very proud getting this job done in time for Superman, Man of Steel,” Rob Schoeneck, General Manager of Destiny USA, stated. “There’s not a bad seat in the house!”
The IMAX and RPX Theaters are now located on the third level next to OptiGolf. The theaters will have a separate entrance and concession area from the 17 existing screens. Tickets for all screens can be purchased at the ticket booth.
OptiGolf is back in the swing of things and will re-open on the third level
OptiGolf is teeing off their reopening by pairing up with The First Tee of Syracuse on Saturday, June 15. The First Tee of Syracuse is a program that teaches kids from the Syracuse City School District the game of golf. OptiGolf provides these kids a new opportunity to play on 96 different golf courses from all over the world. A whole week of re-opening activities is planned with competitions and giveaways. OptiGolf now serves cookies and ice cream at the newly refurbished bar and has brand new tables and chairs, making it even easier to enjoy the 19th hole.
The Golf n’ Entertainment venue is collaborating with The First Tee of Syracuse to help raise awareness of the non-profit. The First Tee program teaches youth life skills through golf. The program introduces golf through physical education classes in elementary schools and aids in discipline development.
OptiGolf at Destiny USA is only one of four OptiGolf locations in the world. The simulators are updated and accurate because OptiGolf uses high-speed camera technology with the latest golf course graphics. Even putting is realistic, as each putt inside 20 feet requires the golfer to read the slopes of the greens to a real putting cup. OptiGolf provides the luxury of having the ability to play famous and highly desirable golf courses from all over the world.

Pole Position Raceway® Partners with the Alzheimer's Association, Central New York Chapter, to Raise Awareness and Funds in Support of The Longest Day® Event on June 21
SYRACUSE, NY (May 31, 2013) – Pole Position Raceway, America’s leading chain of state-of-the-art indoor motorsports entertainment facilities – with the fastest electric karts on the east coast – today announced that it has partnered with the Alzheimer's Association, Central New York Chapter, to raise awareness and funds surrounding The Longest Day® event on Friday, June 21, 2013. Specifically, Pole Position Raceway will donate the cost of two kart fees ($58) from each race between the hours of 11:00AM – 12:00AM to support this worthy cause.
The Longest Day is a sunrise-to-sunset team event to raise funds to fuel the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. This event is about patience, strength and endurance – it is a challenge that reflects the experiences that the more nearly 15 million caregivers face every day. On The Longest Day, thousands of participants will complete approximately 16 hours of consecutive activities such as running, marathon games of bridge at local American Contract Bridge League locations, and hiking the Grand Canyon, to advance the cause.

construction on Destiny USA’s Second Level
Sky Tykes adds a ropes course for younger children
Children who were too young or small to go on the Canyon Climb Adventure ropes course at Destiny USA’s WonderWorks now have a ropes course of their own! Sky Tykes is a ropes course for kids from ages 2-7 under 48 inches tall. The open and low-level design allows for easy parental guidance at any level of the course. Walk along side your child or simply step back and watch them take part in the fun as they are securely harnessed in.
“WonderWorks has something to offer every member of the family with interactive exhibits, children’s area and the Canyon Climb Adventure,” Todd Buchko, General Manager of WonderWorks said. “We’ve collected a lot of feedback since our opening in November from people visiting us from across the country and fun for smaller children was a huge request. We’re thrilled to introduce this new component and let our guests from Canada and the US know that we have something new for them to try out.”
The Sky Tykes ropes course will feature eight elements for children to choose from and will stand three feet in the air.
“It’s exciting to add more to do for young children,” Rob Schoeneck, General Manager at Destiny USA, stated. “Now the younger siblings no longer have to watch their older brothers and sisters on a ropes course. They can join in on the fun.”
Sky Tykes is directly beneath the Canyon Climb Adventure ropes course on the second level. It is currently under construction and is projected to open this weekend at Destiny USA.
Cher Lloyd, best known for her astonishing voice and dance moves on the X-Factor will come to Destiny USA for a performance, meet & greet, and autograph signing
Syracuse,NY- Cher Lloyd, who rose to fame when she finished fourth in the seventh series of The X Factor, is a British singer-songwriter and model. She will be coming to Destiny USA on June 1 to perform some of her newly released singles and interact with fans here in the Syracuse area.
Soon after Lloyd appeared on The X Factor she was signed to Syco Music. Lloyd recorded two singles including her debut single “Swagger Jagger” and “With Ur Love” both released in 2011. “With Ur Love” featuring well-known singer Mike Posner, peaked at number four on the UK Singles Chart, and number five in Ireland. Her third single “Want U Back” debuted on May 22, 2012 in the United States.
Last month Cher Lloyd and Ne-Yo announced their plans to collaborate revealing that they're working on a song called “It's All Good.” They kicked off the announcement of their collaboration with a social media campaign asking their fans to tell them what makes them feel good and keep looking on the bright side with an #itsallgood hashtag.

World of Beer will be located on Destiny USA’s third level
Syracuse, NY - World of Beer (WOB), a thriving beer-centric tavern boasting an extensive collection of brews from around the globe, announced today its new location on Destiny USA’s third level. The popular craft beer tavern will be located adjacent to Pole Position Raceway.
“The World of Beer culture is all about immersing yourself into a vibrant neighborhood tavern. Our craft beer environment is unique and inviting, and we look forward to showcasing this experience to the Destiny USA customers ” said Paul Avery, CEO of World of Beer Franchising, Inc. “The extensive selection of craft brews makes us stand out along with the live entertainment we bring in-house to enhance the experience.”
The ‘WOB Culture’ is unlike any other. The specially-trained staff completes an extensive, two-week beer school, and will be on-hand to guide customers through the World of Beer experience centered around a global selection of craft beers, delicious “tavern fare”, live music and televised sports.
World of Beer brings national and local entertainment acts in for performances on a regular basis. Current featured artists include Ingram Hill, Eric Lindell and Chris Nathan.
